Athletes from Highland and Hudson high schools won the voting for the Akron-Area High School Athlete of the Week for Oct. 13-19 .

Elizabeth Coleman from Highland is the girls winner and Crew McDaniel from Hudson wins for the boys. Coleman, who plays golf, received 50.04% of the votes cast. McDaniel, who runs cross country, received 51.41% of the votes cast.

A total of 6,000 votes were cast overall. Look for more on each athlete below.

Elizabeth Coleman, Highland golf

Finished seventh with a 5-over 148 (73-75) at the Division I state tournament at Firestone Country Club to claim her second consecutive All-Ohio spot.
