MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A U-Haul crashed into a Memphis Police car early Friday morning in Orange Mound just after officers were on a scene regarding a theft.

Officers say around 3:50 a.m., they were flagged down at an apartment complex on Pendleton Street due to a theft where suspects were accused of stealing boxes.

Around 4 a.m., officers were then involved in a crash with a U-Haul just a block away on Deadrick Avenue and Lamar Avenue.

Memphis Police have yet to say how the two scenes are connected.

It is also still unclear what caused the crash or if anyone was injured as a result.
