Whether you planned to spend more on Halloween this year or not, experts are saying that you will if you plan on buying candy, costumes or cards like many consumers do.
According to the National Retail Federation’s annual consumer survey conducted by Prosper Insights & Analytics, Halloween spending is expected to reach a record $13.1 billion this year. Nearly 80% of shoppers expect prices to be higher in part thanks to tariffs. But it’s not expected to slow consumers down. Individual spending has reached a record $114.45. And if you’re a family, they expect you’ll spend over $400.
You might be thinking, that’s a lot of Kit Kat bars, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and Midnight Milky Way candy bars (which are the bars you should have on hand if I were to stop by your home). You would be right,
