There are a few aspects to this upcoming weekend that Jason Strayhorn never saw coming.

For starters, Strayhorn was color commentator for Michigan State football for the past 19 years, before he was abruptly let go heading into the 2025 season. Earlier this summer, he figured he would be on the call for the 20th time in a Paul Bunyan battle, when No. 24 Michigan football (5-2, 3-1 Big Ten) traveled to Michigan State (3-4, 0-4 Big Ten) on Saturday, Oct. 25 (7:45 p.m., NBC).

What he couldn't have predicted years before? His son, Kaden Strayhorn, will be wearing maize and blue on that night.
