Vital repairs have been made to Kenilworth's war memorial in time for Remembrance Sunday.

The monument at Abbey Fields was damaged in April when a driver crashed into it.

The man has since lost his licence and issued with a fine.

Since then, the war memorial has been without the railings around it, which were severely damaged.

Warwick District Council has now installed new railings in time for Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day.

An update at last month's Kenilworth Town Council meeting said the memorial has actually been slightly rotated and some of the steps have been dislodged.

This damage is yet to be fixed.

There are two options for its repair, with one "considerably more feasible than the other".
