At a public meeting in Bihar’s Siwan district, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the state would witness the “real Diwali” on November 14 -- the day, he said, when the RJD and its allies would suffer a humiliating defeat in the assembly elections.

During his address, Shah launched a sharp attack on the Lalu Prasad-led Rashtriya Janata Dal, targeting the party’s decision to nominate Osama Shahab, the son of gangster-turned-politician Mohammad Shahabuddin.

“People here must ensure that Shahabuddin's son, contesting from the Raghunathpur seat, faces a humiliating defeat in the assembly polls,” Shah told the crowd, urging voters to reject the RJD’s candidate.
