Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has said that India does not sign trade agreements in haste or under pressure, reported PTI. Speaking at the Berlin Dialogue in Germany on Friday, he made it clear that India would only enter trade deals that align with its long-term interests.

“We are in active dialogue with the EU. We are talking to the US, but we do not do deals in a hurry, and we do not do deals with deadlines or with a gun to our head,” Goyal said.

The Minister noted that India is holding active discussions with the EU and the US to strengthen trade partnerships. He emphasised that while India is open to collaboration, it will not compromise its national priorities for the sake of speed.
