The median sales price for a home in Chicago increased last month, according to the latest report from the Chicago Association of Realtors.
The price reached $360,000, up 3.6% from $347,500 in September 2024. The association’s report also found the median sales price for the year so far is $377,000, up 6.2% compared to the same period last year.
Meanwhile, the number of homes for sale in Chicago last month dropped by double digits, leaving fewer options for potential homebuyers.
The Chicago Association of Realtors said inventory in September dropped by 21.2% year over year. There were 4,354 homes on the market last month, compared to 5,527 homes in September 2024, according to the association’s report released last month.
