Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said the National Democratic alliance under the leadership of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will script a “record-breaking” victory in the upcoming Assembly elections in the state.

This was the first time that the prime minister endorsed the Janata Dal (United) chief as the alliance’s chief ministerial candidate.

“In the last assembly polls in Gujarat, where the party has been in power for 30 years, all previous records were broken,” Modi said at a rally in Samastipur. “Similar was the case in Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Haryana. I am confident that in Bihar, too, under Nitish Kumar, the NDA will break all previous records.”
