WASHINGTON, D.C. (LOOTPRESS) – U.S. Senator Jim Justice (R-WV) addressed concerns Thursday about delays to Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits caused by the ongoing federal government shutdown.

“I do not think that the president, nor anyone here, will let that really happen. People don’t care if it’s the Republican’s or Democrat’s fault but they absolutely have to have these dollars these SNAP benefits,” Justice said.

“They have to have them, and if they don’t have them, the families are going to get really, really, really hurt. And they don’t know what in the world to do. What are they going to do? I can’t really believe that at the end of the day what’s going to happen here is if we’re going to do something to hurt those folks.”
