The Undisputed WWE Championship match between Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre, now scheduled for Saturday Night’s Main Event, was reportedly moved up from its original spot at Survivor Series. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter , this change was necessitated by an injury to Jacob Fatu.
Fatu was the original opponent planned for McIntyre at the upcoming Saturday Night’s Main Event show. “Rhodes vs. McIntyre, originally scheduled for Survivor Series, was moved up here because Jacob Fatu, who was originally to face McIntyre on this show, is out of action,” the report stated.
This decision also highlights a potential lack of depth on the roster, as WWE opted to accelerate the planned Survivor Series main event rather than find a replacement opponent for McIntyre to build towards
