The demolition of the White House’s East Wing to make room for a new ballroom President Donald Trump wants has become controversial and costly — and it’s mixed politics and sports.
According to The Hill , companies such as Apple, Google, Meta, Microsoft, and Comcast Corp. will bankroll the project, along with individual donors such as Tampa Bay Buccaneers owner and co-chairman Edward Glazer and his wife, Shari Glazer.
The Glazer family has owned the Buccaneers since 1995, when Malcolm Glazer initially purchased the franchise for $192 million. According to CNBC’s 2025 valuations of NFL franchises, the team is now worth $7.3 billion. The family is also the majority owner of Manchester United, the Premier League soccer team.
