Among the charities that support programs such as Shop With a Cop and organizations like Turning Point, Family Youth Interventions, Haven Place and Macomb Foster Closet is the Elizabeth Kay Galeana (EKG) Charitable Foundation.
It’s a little known group founded in Florida that expanded to Michigan. It was started in honor of the spirit that Elizabeth brought to the world before she died at the age of 22.
Since a local group was established its foundation members have proudly invested more than $600,000 to strengthen programs, enhance facilities and support the initiatives of 20 organizations that help children in one way or another.
Thanks to their fundraising efforts facilities have received everything from a remodelled kitchen and new basketball courts to washers and dryers. The group
