GRAND FORKS — Grand Forks Red River junior Cohen Dunnigan is a proven standout in North Dakota Class A cross country.
He earned all-state honors for a Top 20 finish at the state meet as a freshman and sophomore.
As he prepares for a shot at a third all-state honor at the Class A meet in Jamestown on Saturday, Dunnigan is adjusting to a new role.
For the first time in his Red River career, he's no longer chasing older runners in training. Now, he's setting the pace at the front of the pack.
"It feels different now to be at the front of it," said Dunnigan, who finished third at the EDC meet at Lincoln Park in Grand Forks earlier this month.
