Chhath Puja 2025: Dates, Rituals, and Environmental Impact

For 2025, the schedule of rituals is as follows: - October 25, Saturday: Nahay Khay (Day 1) - October 26, Sunday: Kharna - October 27, Monday: Sandhya Arghya (Evening offering to the setting sun) - October 28, Tuesday: Uday Arghya (Morning offering to the rising sun)

Nahay Khay marks the beginning of the festival, focusing on spiritual and physical cleansing. Devotees take holy baths in rivers or ponds, or use Ganga water at home if necessary. After bathing, they wear clean clothes and begin their fast with simple, sattvic meals. This day signifies new beginnings and prayers for family well-being and prosperity.
