Many Arizonans, especially those from Tucson, love Eegee's. And so do the writers at Lovefood.com , who just named the southern Arizona-based chain the best regional fast food in the state.
The list was compiled using a combination of online reviews, awards and accolades, and the anecdotal input of the Lovefood.com team. Eegee's came in at #51 on the list of 57 restaurants around the country.
Eegee's opened its first location in Tucson in 1971 and has since expanded to 25 stores around the state.
The chain is best known for its signature drink from which the restaurant gets its name: the eegee, a frozen treat that is available in a variety of fruity flavors, including lemon, strawberry, piña colada and mango, plus occasional rotating seasonal flavors.
