TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Terre Haute Casino Resort Foundation said it is actively working on ways for its annual fund to be used for a new high school in Vigo County.
After receiving over $4 million in funding during its first year in operation, the casino said it wanted to work with the school corporation to help fund improvements to Vigo County Schools.
The collaborative effort would include the proposed Oversight Board, Vigo County School Corporation, Vigo County Council, and other community stakeholders.
"We recognize that strong schools are the cornerstone of economic development and workforce readiness," said the casino. "Although the Vigo County School Corporation has great students, teachers and staff, the condition of its facilities is severely outdated and no longer
