When it comes to acting, Diane Kruger 's daughter Nova has become her North Star.

In fact, the actress is "much more conscious" of the roles she takes on these days because of her 6-year-old, who she shares with longtime partner Norman Reedus .

"I can't teach her, I can only live by example," Diane explained in an exclusive interview with E! News. "Obviously, I grew up in a very different world than she ever will, so there's a lot of stuff that will just be a given for her that I went through and I wouldn't never tolerate that for my daughter."

That's why it was a no-brainer for her to join the cast of HBO Max's The Seduction —a reimagined prequel to the 1988 period drama Dangerous Liaisons —as Madame de Rosemonde, who the 49-year-old describes as one of the first pioneers
