A Delta flight aborted its takeoff from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport on Thursday afternoon after appearing to suffer an engine failure on the runway.
The incident involved Delta flight 1661 to Portland International Airport, which was scheduled to take off at 3:50 p.m.
Video recorded by MNCam.com shows the moment the craft begins its takeoff, but part of the way down the runway appears to suffer a problem with one of its engines, with the footage showing a small gout of flame appearing out of the plane's right side.
The plane then aborts the takeoff, with MNCam saying a fire truck was requested to the runway, which was briefly closed as it was checked for debris. The plane was then able to taxi back to the gate.
