Is Louisiana's economy expanding? Economist says state's is growing

Chief economist Mark Zandi of Moody's Analytics, a financial services company, has estimated that 22 states and Washington, D.C. are currently experiencing a recession .

Zandi also estimated that another 13 states are treading water, and are at risk of economic weakness and job losses .

Despite this, other states appear to be experiencing economic expansion, according to Zandi .

How is Louisiana economy?

In order to analyze state economies, Zandi created an index examining state-level jobs data, as well as other inputs like modeled industrial production, personal income and housing starts.

In Zandi's analysis, Louisiana was one of the states said to be experiencing economic expansion. It's important to note that Zandi's assessment is subjective, and looks at data from before t
