LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Ford is investing $60 million and adding more than 100 jobs to its Kentucky Truck Plant in Louisville, the company announced Thursday.
The vehicle manufacturer said it's part of efforts to increase F-150 and F-Series Super Duty truck production to meet customer demand and recover production losses after a recent fire at supplier Novelis' aluminum plant in upstate New York. The addition of 100-plus employees will help increase the plant's F-Series Super Duty assembly line speed by one job per hour or more than 5,000 trucks per year.
The investment will also help support training and "other enablers to support the line speed increase," Ford added.
