JACKSON, Miss. (WMC) - Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch and Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti announced their victory in a multistate lawsuit challenging a policy introduced during the Biden Administration that would have allowed healthcare providers to provide sex-change procedures.
The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi ruled that the policies overstepped their authority by redefining unlawful “sex” discrimination under the Affordable Care Act to include discrimination on the basis of “sexual orientation” and “gender identity.”
Along with Mississippi and Tennessee, Attorneys General from Alabama, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Virginia, and West Virginia participated. The
