NEW JERSEY (PIX11) – New Jerseyans, did you know that you can check if you have unclaimed money in the Garden State?

The New Jersey Unclaimed Property Administration has an online portal that residents can utilize to search for property they may be owed. You’ll be asked to put your first and last name or business into the blank fields to start your search.

To narrow your search, you can also include the city, zip code, or property ID. It’s not guaranteed that you will come up in the search for unclaimed property, but if you do, you can start the process of claiming your money.

You’ll be asked about your relationship with the property owner before you’re able to file a claim. Then, you can start filing your claim with your name, email address, Social Security number and more.
