The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 221 in West Elgin is preparing to launch its annual poppy campaign, a cornerstone of remembrance and support for veterans and their families.
The campaign begins Oct. 31, when donation boxes and poppy lapel pins will appear in businesses and community locations across western Elgin County. Residents are encouraged to make a contribution and wear a poppy in honour of Canada’s veterans.

“All proceeds from the poppy campaign go directly into trust to support local veterans and their families in need,” local legion officials said in a release.
