Housebuilder Persimmon has secured planning for the next stages of its wider Llanilid residential scheme which will see more than 540 new homes.
The approval from Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s planning committee covers phases five to eight of the Llanilid site, near Llanharry, where outline permission has previously been granted for up to 1,850 homes. The first four phases will see more than 1,000 homes one completed
The latest phases will deliver a mix of one- to five-bedroom properties, designed to meet local housing needs. Of the 543 homes, 88 will comprise a mix of social rent which will be managed by a local housing association and low cost home ownership properties which will be sold to qualifying persons in need of housing at a discount to market value.
