The Town of White City and the RM of Edenwold say they have been able to recover most of the money they lost in a fraud scheme that targeted the wastewater authority they jointly own.
In July, someone who "electronically impersonated" the WCRM158 Wastewater Authority defrauded the town of $200,000 and the RM of nearly $500,000.
White City now says it was able to recover nearly all its money, except for about $5,000, through its cyber insurance policy.
The RM of Edenwold has recovered $377,376 "from the relevant financial institutions" of the $497,000 it lost.
