A fire severely damaged two homes in Queens, New York State, and also left two people injured. According to the New York City Fire Department, the blaze was started due to Diwali fireworks.

Additionally, damages to property due to fireworks was also reported in New Jersey.

The fire began around 2.20 am in a home on Lincoln Street on Wednesday and quickly spread to a neighbouring residence, according to a report in ABC7.

Fortunately, all occupants escaped without major injury. However, two individuals were treated for minor injuries at hospital.

Surveillance footage captured the fireworks soaring through the air. At one point, a burst flew straight into a house. Moments later, flames engulfed three houses at the corner of Foch Boulevard and Lincoln Street, according to CBS News.
