WEST PLAINS, Mo. (KY3) - If you have unused or expired medication taking up space in your cabinets, there are places all around the Ozarks where you can properly get rid of them on Friday and Saturday.
October’s National Drug Takeback Day is on the 25th, but some places, like Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains, are hosting a day early to maximize outcomes.
The DEA hosts the takeback day twice a year, once in April and once in October.
People can bring in their unused or expired medications to locations set up by local law enforcement or healthcare providers. From there, the medicine will be sent for proper disposal.
