HYBLA VALLEY, Va. — The Fairfax County Police Department released dashboard camera footage that shows one of their officers hitting and killing a hit-and-run victim who was still in the road.
Chief Kevin Davis confirmed that while police believe a driver in a black Mercedes sedan had been the first to hit 62-year-old Trina Jones, it was an FCPD officer who had actually hit and killed her on Richmond Highway in Hybla Valley on Sept. 23, at around 8:40 p.m.
"We're thinking about the family, we're thinking about her," Davis said of Jones. "It's never a good thing when a police department, anywhere in America, has contact with ... anyone ... and a life is loss. So we take this very seriously."
