PINAL COUNTY, Ariz. — A car crash involving a commercial truck blocked off the eastbound lanes of Interstate 10, south of Phoenix, on Friday.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety said the crash involved several vehicles at milepost 175 near Casa Blanca Road. A passenger car collided with a commercial truck loaded with produce.

DPS said the driver of the passenger car was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Both eastbound lanes were briefly closed Friday morning while DPS investigates the collision. As of 9:30 a.m., the left eastbound lane reopened.
