A nor’easter came roaring up the East Coast and across the Cape on the holiday weekend, forcing the cancellation of the sixth Hog Island race. After several weeks of waiting and hoping for more wind, it was as if the collective wishes were answered in one wet, blustery blast. Last Sunday, however, the fleet found itself waiting for wind again. The harbor was still, but there were tiny ripples on the water and the flags on Chapoquoit Island were fluttering. The Race Committee had reason for optimism.
