(NewsNation) — U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy warned of more flight delays and cancellations resulting from the government shutdown during a news conference at Philadelphia International Airport on Friday.
During the news conference, Duffy addressed the strain air traffic controllers are under, noting that they are considered essential workers and must work without pay during the shutdown. Until Congress votes to end the shutdown, some 13,000 air traffic controllers and more than 61,000 TSA workers will have to work without pay.
