BC Ferries has had to cancel numerous round trips between Vancouver Island and Tsawwassen today due to rough seas.
According to a service notice from the ferry corporation, four sailings on the Nanaimo-Tsawwassen route and six sailings on the Victoria-Tsawwassen route are cancelled Friday, Oct. 24, “as a result of Environment Canada’s severe weather forecast for high winds in the Strait of Georgia.”
The 10:15 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. sailings from Duke Point and the 10:15 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. sailings from Tsawwassen are cancelled.
The 8 a.m., 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. sailings from Swartz Bay and the 9 a.m., 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. sailings from Tsawwassen are cancelled.
Customers with reservations are being contacted by BC Ferries’ customer service centre to arrange re-scheduling or refunds.
