YOUNGSTOWN More Valley police officers are being honored after completing the Mahoning County Mental Health and Recovery Board's Crisis Intervention Training (CIT).
Those who completed the program were honored with a graduation ceremony luncheon on Friday, October 24, at the Public Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County.
Graduates at Friday's ceremony are among the second group to graduate in 2025, according to a news release.
The goal of CIT is to improve connections between law enforcement, mental health providers, hospital emergency services and individuals with mental illness, along with their families.
The 40-hour program is offered to local police officers by the Mahoning County Mental Health and Recovery Board in partnership with NAMI Mahoning Valley.
