BUFFALO, N.Y. — The University at Buffalo has issued a statement after one of their employees was recently arrested in connection with a homicide.
Kidane Haile , 30, was arraigned Thursday in Erie County Court on an indictment charging him with one count of murder in the second degree.
Investigators say Buffalo Fire responded to a report of a fire Oct. 18 in a first-floor apartment on Norwood Avenue. They found an adult female, identified as Kathleen "Katie" Carrig, and her newborn baby who were pronounced dead at the scene. Haile suffered smoke inhalation from the fire and was taken to ECMC for treatment.
