From charming Carson City to the lights of Reno, Nevada is full of communities that attract retirees. But which are the safest?

A study by GOBankingRates, a personal finance website, ranked U.S. retirement cities based on both safety and wealth.

The site analyzed data including the violent crime rate per 1,000 residents and the average income of retired households. Each city received scores in multiple categories, and the results were summed to identify the top 30 retirement destinations where safety and wealth align. To qualify, at least one-quarter of a city’s residents had to be age 65 or older.

One Nevada city made the top 10.
