Taken in Plain Sight is dominating Netflix, but this isn't the Liam Neeson version. The Irish actor starred in three Taken movies from 2008 to 2015 – Taken (2008), Taken 2 (2012), and Taken 3 (2015) – which grossed nearly $1 billion at the box office. In turn, many movies have since tried to copy their formula and recapture their success.

One of those movies is Taken in Plain Sight (2024), which currently ranks ninth on Netflix 's Global Top 10 movies with 2.9 million views and 4.5 million hours viewed for the week of October 13–19. It ranks above The Maze Runner and below The Woman in Cabin 10 , The Perfect Neighbor , KPop Demon Hunters , My Father, the BTK Killer , The Twits , Vacation , Despicable Me 3 , and The Secret Life of Pets 2 .
