The story details how Trump ultimately announced a U.S.-brokered ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas. The first phase of the agreement, which went into effect earlier this month, led to the release of all living hostages held in Gaza in exchange for thousands of Palestinian prisoners and detainees.
