NEDERLAND, Texas — The Nederland Independent School District could announce a lone finalist for its next superintendent as early as next week, following a closed-session board meeting scheduled for Wednesday morning.
The search for a new leader began after Superintendent Dr. Stuart Kieschnick announced in July his intention to retire effective December 19. Dr. Kieschnick has led the district since August 2020.
The school board will convene Wednesday morning in executive session to discuss narrowing the field of candidates down to one. Following the closed-door deliberations, board members may reconvene in open session to formally name a single candidate for the position.
