Vertical dramas, or microdramas, the 90-minute soap operas broken down into one-to-two-minute clips with intense cliffhangers, are breathing new life into the content world. Originating in China in the 2010s, the industry beat out the entire Chinese box office last year. Now, in the U.S., analysts predict the industry will surpass $4 billion in revenue in 2025.
