A man who was arrested by the Aurora Police Department in connection with a shooting last weekend on Interstate 225 is being held in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody on possible federal charges.

Celin Villeda Orellana, 38, was arrested Thursday by members of the Aurora Police Department’s Fugitive Apprehension & Narcotics Unit on charges of attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, menacing and illegal discharge of a firearm, all felonies, according to a department news release.

Police said Orellana was arrested during a traffic stop near the intersection of 11th Avenue and Havana Street in Aurora. Following the traffic stop, an investigation revealed Orellana, who is a Honduran national, was making plans to flee the country, police said.
