The former Los Angeles Police Department officer who was arrested last week for allegedly killing a homeless man 10 years ago has been charged with murder.
Clifford Proctor, 60, pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder on Friday, and he is being held without bail, the Los Angeles Times reports.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office said he's due back in court on Nov. 3.
Proctor is accused of killing an unarmed homeless man, 29-year-old Brendon Glenn, in 2015, and since then, multiple district attorneys have considered filing charges against Proctor.
In 2018, former District Attorney Jackie Lacey "concluded there was insufficient evidence to prove Proctor acted unlawfully when he used deadly force," though her successor, former District Attorney George Gascon, "re-examined
