Since 2010, Michiganians have disposed of more than 253 tons of prescription medications through the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) biannual Prescription Drug Take-Back Day. This past April alone, more than eight tons were collected at 189 participating locations throughout the state.

It’s clear that many Michiganians understand the importance of properly disposing of unused, unwanted or expired medicine. With the next take-back day coming up on Oct. 25, it's important for Michigan residents to be aware of the free, easy-to-use resources available year-round all across the state.
