For many Minnesotans, no trip to the Como Park Zoo was complete without one: a small piece of molded plastic depicting one of the zoo’s beloved animals, often still hot from the machine, shaped into the perfect size for your pocket or the palm of your hand.
Now, like many of our snowbirds, the zoo’s long-beloved Mold-A-Rama machine is bidding adieu to the North Star State and is heading south after nearly two decades.
The Como Park Zoo & Conservatory announced Thursday the company that owns and operates their Mold-A-Rama machine has decided to relocate them to a region with "a longer peak season and higher year-round attendance."
