GRAND FORKS — Grand Forks Red River senior Owen Martin was the lone local honoree on the North Dakota all-state boys soccer team, which was released Friday by the North Dakota High School Coaches Association.
The midfielder, who was one of 12 players named to the all-state first team, had five goals and six assists this season.
Martin's biggest moments came at the North Dakota state tournament in Bismarck.
Martin scored two goals against defending state champion and No. 1 seed Bismarck Legacy in the quarterfinals.
He then scored on a penalty kick in overtime to beat West Fargo Sheyenne and send the Roughriders to the state championship.
Red River finished runner-up.
