SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Due to the federal government shutdown, November 2025 SNAP benefits may be delayed or disrupted.

October benefits are fully issued, but future funding is uncertain.

The Department of Social Services is monitoring the situation and has created a FAQ Sheet to address concerns about SNAP during the shutdown.

According to the DSS:

There will be no changes to SNAP eligibility or program rules at this time.

DSS offices are fully operational for new applications, renewals, and customer inquiries.

Recipients can continue using their EBT cards, with current balances available.

Authorized SNAP retailers remain in good standing, and further guidance may come if the shutdown continues.
