Jesse Williams is lacing up his scrub cap again.

After his Grey’s Anatomy departure in 2021, the actor, who plays Dr. Jackson Avery, is set to make a rare return to Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.

Indeed, his character—who has only made a handful of guest appearances since his 2021 exit—surprisingly showed up in an Oct. 23 teaser for an upcoming season 22 episode and naturally, encourages Meredith ( Ellen Pompeo ) to return to her Alzheimer’s research in Boston, where he also now lives.
