MONTPELIER, Vt. (ABC22/FOX44) - The Green Mountain State will soon have new people in charge of growing its economy.

Lyle Jepson is currently the Executive Director of CEDRR, the Chamber & Economic Development of the Rutland Region. Earlier in his career, he worked for 30 years in public education sector.

Jepson said that the state has set a "clear goal of strengthening our rural economies," and that he looks forward to help meet the needs of businesses and communities in the state.

Nick Grimley, who has already worked at the Department of Economic Development since 2017, was also announced as the new deputy commissioner. He co-founded the LaunchVT program to help new businesses in the state.
