BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - Sen. Bernie Sanders is helping push Vermont’s latest legal challenge against the Trump administration over cuts to a low-income solar energy program that he helped champion in Congress.
Vermont and New York are among 20 states suing the Trump administration over cutting congressionally approved funding for the Solar for All program .
The $7 billion program, part of the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act, aims to install solar on some 8,000 Vermont homes, funding that has now been clawed back by the EPA. EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin called the program a “boondoggle.”
