Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon says President Donald Trump will be president again in 2028.

In an interview with the Economist released on Thursday, Bannon said that “there’s a plan, and President Trump will be the president in 2028.”

When asked about the 22nd amendment, which prohibits any U.S citizen from being elected president more than twice, Bannon responded that “at the appropriate time, we’ll lay out what the plan is. But there’s a plan.”

Bannon also said that there are many different alternatives to bypass the 22nd amendment, but did not share those alternatives.

Bannon pointed to “the will of the American people” as the reason why Trump would be able to serve a third term, suggesting that it would not undermine the constitution if the people voted him in
